Where did you get your Health Coaching and EFT Certification? I received my Health Coaching Certification through the Institute for Integrative Nutrition and my EFT Certification through EFT Universe.
What is Clinical EFT? Clinical EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique) means it has been validated in many clinical trials. It has roots in modern psychology and acupuncture and draws upon psychotherapy and cognitive exposure therapy. You use your fingertips and tap on specific meridian endpoints on your body. While tapping, you focus on the negative emotions or physical sensations and your nervous system begins to calm down and balance the energy in your body so you are feeling more relaxed and at ease. It can neutralize a triggering event in a matter of minutes.
Is EFT and Tapping the same thing? Yes, EFT stands for Emotional Freedom Technique and is often called Tapping. Many practitioners, including myself, use EFT and Tapping interchangeably.
What can EFT help me with? It can help with anxiety, depression, athletic performance, pain in the body, phobias, PTSD, trauma, weight loss, cravings, addictions, grief . . . the list is endless. There are many studies to verify the results of how EFT has helped and you can check them out here. I like to call EFT / Tapping your own superpower that you have at your fingertips because it helps with so many negative emotions that can overtake your life.
Why do you focus on the negative when tapping? We focus on the negative aspects to lower the stress around those thoughts and to allow you to process how you feel. While you tap and focus on the negative aspects you send calming signals to the brain. We aren’t tapping on the negative feelings to reinforce it, we are tapping on your truth and accepting the reality of the issue and how you feel.
Why do you tap on certain points of the body? Because these areas are acupoints that have a higher concentration of receptors. When these receptors get stimulated with tapping they send signals to areas of your brain associated with emotions. These points are located along energy pathways in your body. Traditional Chinese medicine calls these points meridians.
Where are the tapping points and can I start tapping on my own? Absolutely you can start tapping on your own and I highly recommend it. Go here and you will find a step by step basic tapping routine with photos of where the tapping points are located.
Why do you share recipes and what kind of recipes do you share? I believe that eating clean and healthy food is critical to our overall well-being and happiness. I share easy and healthy recipes that typically are gluten free. I use to not be a fan of cooking and over the years have developed a joy for cooking I never thought possible. I like to share easy and healthy recipes because I believe if I can make them then you can too. My two daughters and husband enjoy cooking too and I will also share recipes that they have created or tried. But, don’t worry I only share easy ones. Check out some recipes here.
