Aha Number 4

Aha number 4: Abundance Is Your Natural State

Note: This is my personal aha from reading the book, The One Minute Millionaire – The Enlightened Way to Wealth. Feel free to check out my previous aha blog posts as well or you can start from here.

This chapter really makes me think about the word abundance. The thought is that once you decide to embrace, experience and express abundance then there is only abundance. The authors gave an example of a beautiful sunset. Now, this really resonated with me because I have loved sunsets since I was a little kid. I think they are amazing!! But the authors used the example that no one can absorb all of the sunset – meaning that there is plenty of beauty for all to share in the abundance of a sunset. When you think about that it is so very true.

To me abundance comes from a place of more than enough for all. When we have abundant thinking it multiplies and magnifies whatever we are focusing on at that time. Try thinking about the abundant amount of love you have in your life. Think about your family members that you love and love you; think about your friends that you love. When you think about the abundant supply of love that you have in your life it does magnify and you begin to embrace all the love in your life. There is no feeling of lack because you abundantly have love at the forefront of your mind. It is a wonderful feeling.

In order to really take abundance in we really have to picture it in our mind because our mind will create our reality. Remember thoughts become things from aha number 1. So when we can imagine it in our mind our body begins to feel it too. What would it feel like to have abundance? Close your eyes and give yourself the permission to visually see and feel what that would be like. Seriously . . . pause and allow yourself to visualize that in your mind. As a reminder, you should come back to that image when you start to think of lack in your life.

The authors recommend saying an affirmation for 30 days until it becomes the truth for you. In fact, they listed out four you can choose from if you want. There was one that stuck with me and I have even said it out loud with my arms in the air. Let me tell you when I open my arms and say it out loud I can feel it in my body and I feel happy!  The affirmation that works for me is:

I embrace abundance and abundance embraces me!

I find it really funny that the word embrace is in this affirmation. Let me tell you why. I love words. I have words engraved in rocks around my house, I have words on the walls . . . I use words to decorate in my home. The one word that I had to have and never understood why is embrace! It is not small, it is pretty good size and it is on my hutch in my dining room. I have often looked at it and wondered why I have this and should I still keep it. Every time I have evaluated whether I want to keep it or not I always end up saying yes – I want this. I have never understood why I wanted to keep it but I just felt like I wanted to so I listened and have always kept it.

Now, I am going to throw feng shui into the mix so bare with me it will all come together soon. I have studied fung shui over the years and have used this philosophy to decorate my house. Feng shui is an ancient Chinese philosophy dealing with the placement of furniture and how the energy flows in a room. You also utilize something called a bagua map which defines 9 categories or situations that are represented in your living space. I often describe feng shui to someone like this – have you ever walked into a room or someone’s house and immediately felt uncomfortable; or maybe walked into someone’s home and felt really comfortable? The flow of the energy in the space can create a harmonious feeling or not so harmonious feeling and can often be based on the arrangement of the furniture or things placed in the room. Now there is way more to feng shui than this and I highly recommend a book called, Move your stuff, change your life by Karen Rauch Carter, if you want to learn more. At any rate, my dining room where the word embrace is so nicely displayed is also my prosperity room in my house according to the feng shui philosophy.

Now let’s put all this together – the affirmation I resonated with was: I embrace abundance and abundance embraces me! I also have been drawn to the word embrace and I have it displayed in my dining room that just happens to be my prosperity room. Ahhhh. . . now that is synchronicity.

I love when I am aware enough to see the synchronicity happening in my life. I just realized the dining room connection this morning. So I end with the affirmation that might just be helpful for you too!

I embrace abundance and abundance embraces me!
