A self-care lesson with my ipod

A self-care lesson with my ipod

I love music! I like to have music playing in our house, especially when I am cleaning the kitchen or cleaning anything else for that matter. Music just lightens things up and I enjoy dancing around or singing while cleaning. It is just what I do.  I have had a little touble doing that for a few months though because my ipod wasn’t working.

I have postponed getting it looked at for several months. I guess because you have to make an appointment at the Apple store and take it in. I just hadn’t taken the time to make the appointment. Plus everyone in my family has an i-something that plays music, so I have been listening to theirs. However, it had gotten to the point I wanted my music not theirs as we don’t have all the same songs and adding my songs would take up too much memory space.

So I decided on my birthday to finally call and get an appointment. Not sure why it took my birthday to push me to actually make an appointment but it did. They actually has an appointment that same day. I took it in and viola it worked!! They didn’t have to do anything to it. He reset it just to do something but it worked without having to reset it. I was there maybe 5 minutes.

I laughed to myself on the way out because I felt like it was such a HUGE lesson for me. Did I care enough about listening to my music to take the time to get my ipod fixed? Also, reflecting on why it took me so long to actually make the appointment for something that I really enjoy. . . the music on my ipod.  Although my ipod didn’t actually need fixed, the whole experience was a big lesson for me on self-care. Taking care of the things I need too . . . like being able to listen to the music I enjoy.

So today . . . I enjoyed listening to my ipod with my music while I cleaned the kitchen and sang a little! :)
