About Carrie
I am a Certified Holistic Health Counselor/Coach with additional certification through the American Association of Drugless Practitioners. I received my training at the Institute for Integrative Nutrition in New York City. It is a diverse school with cutting edge training. The curriculum is a combination of East and West philosophies and includes over 100 dietary theories. Some of my teachers were Joshua Rosenthal, Deepak Chopra, Dr. Andrew Weil, Julia Cameron, Dr. John Douillard, and Bernie Seigel to name a few. It is truly a one-of-a kind school and it is AMAZING! I also have a BA in Business Administration with a focus in Communication from The Ohio University.
I spent 8 years in corporate environments where I primarily focused on Training and Development. This included creating curriculum for classes, teaching classes, as well as managing corporate training programs. What I found was that I loved teaching and helping people grow whether on a personal or professional level.
I left my corporate career to raise my two daughters. While I thought I had worked hard in my life it was nothing compared to becoming a mom. It continues to be the most rewarding and challenging thing I have ever done!
I came to a point in my life where it felt like the right time to begin a new career. After being introduced to Institute for Integrative Nutrition several years ago, I totally resonated with the principals and concepts that they offered. I also love to help guide and inspire others and have often been called “the counselor” with friends. After much thought I realized holistic health counseling was the perfect fit for me!
My interest
I love traveling! I enjoy trying new foods and restaurants wherever I am traveling. I’m always looking for restaurant recommendations. I support environmental and organic food efforts for our world and I really enjoy reading, photography, hiking and being outside with our plants. I just started to enjoy cooking over the last several years but it needs to be easy, healthy and delicious recipes. I leave the gourmet cooking to my husband. My most treasured people in my life are my husband and two daughters. I learn from them daily.
My philosophy
I believe that everything we think and do feeds our spirit. Everyday we have a choice on how we think, what we do, and how we eat. We can decide to make better choices with the lifestyle we live and the foods that we eat so that we are living a happier, healthier and more fulfilling life.
